R&D Manager
We are seeking an R\&D Manager to strengthen our R\&D Department in Zoetermeer.

The role
We are looking for an experienced R\&D Manager to lead our R\&D team. You will manage day\-to\-day R\&D operations, drive product development, and support the CTO by translating strategy into execution. This is a key leadership role in delivering innovative, safety\-critical maritime products.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary R\&D team (hardware, firmware, software)
- Own execution of the R\&D roadmap and ensure timely, high\-quality product delivery
- Oversee full product lifecycle: concept, development, validation, and production
- Provide technical direction and approve engineering and design decisions
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and certification requirements
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Sales, and external partners
- Report on progress, risks, and performance to the CTO
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
- Proven leadership experience in hardware/embedded product development
- Strong technical background in embedded systems (hardware and/or firmware)
- Experience managing complex development projects through to production
- Comfortable in regulated or safety\-critical environments
- Strong decision\-making and communication skills
- Experience in maritime electronics (e.g. VDR, EPIRB, AIS)
- Knowledge of maritime standards (IMO, SOLAS, IEC)
- Background in RF, GNSS, or wireless technologies
- Experience with certification processes (e.g. DNV, Bureau Veritas)
- A senior, high\-impact leadership role with real ownership
- Work on advanced, safety\-critical maritime technology used globally
