Quantity Surveyor

Stour Heath Projects Ltd

Stourbridge, West Midlands

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Stourbridge.

We work with developers, investors, contractors and private clients across a wide range of projects including city centre developments, commercial schemes, construction management projects, refurbishments and high\-end residential homes.

This role would suit somebody who genuinely enjoys construction, likes being involved in projects from start to finish and wants more than simply sitting behind a desk producing reports.

We're looking for somebody who is commercially minded, trustworthy, proactive and has a bit of fire in their belly.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved in all aspects of project delivery and commercial management, including:

  • Cost planning and budgeting

  • Procurement and tendering

  • Preparing tender enquiries and analysing returns

  • Negotiating with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers

  • Managing valuations, variations and final accounts

  • Contract administration and Employer's Agent duties

  • Supporting Construction Management projects and procuring trade packages

  • Working closely with developers to help maximise project profitability

  • Attending site meetings and client meetings

  • Building relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers

  • Identifying risks and solving problems before they become issues

  • Managing multiple projects at different stages simultaneously
You'll be trusted to think for yourself, make decisions and take ownership of your projects.

What We're Looking For

The right person will:

  • Have Quantity Surveying experience within consultancy, contractor or developer environments

  • Have strong procurement and tendering experience

  • Understand construction technology and how buildings are actually put together

  • Be comfortable reviewing drawings and identifying potential issues

  • Be commercially aware and understand how development projects make money

  • Be able to manage multiple projects without constant supervision

  • Be trustworthy, reliable and take pride in their work

  • Be confident speaking with clients, contractors, consultants and suppliers

  • Enjoy getting out to site and being involved in project delivery

  • Be prepared to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in when required
MRICS is welcomed but not essential. Practical construction knowledge, commercial awareness and attitude are more important than letters after your name.

Why Join Us?

We're a friendly and ambitious team who enjoy what we do.

Construction is a people business and we place huge value on relationships. We enjoy the social side of the industry, meeting clients, attending events, visiting projects and celebrating success along the way.

We're not looking for someone to simply fill a role.

We're looking for someone who wants to become a valued part of the team and help deliver great projects for our clients.

Most importantly, if you help create value, build relationships, win work and contribute to successful projects, you'll be recognised and rewarded accordingly.

Interested?

If you're passionate about construction, enjoy working with people and want to be involved in delivering quality projects, we'd love to hear from you.

If construction doesn't genuinely excite you, this probably isn't the role for you.

Pay: £300\.00\-£350\.00 per day
