Quality Manager

Turbine Repair Technologies Ltd (TRT Ltd) is a joint venture between Rolls\-Royce Plc and Chromalloy, focused on the repair of gas turbine blades and vanes for aerospace and energy applications. It performs several specialist coatings required to protect components from extreme heat during operations in addition to some more conventional repair techniques.

As we continue to grow and develop, we are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and strengthening our quality standard and culture

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and direct the Quality organisation in the achievement of the standards expected for products and services.

  • Coach, mentor and develop members of the Quality Team to improve their skills. Identify development requirements, carry out regular appraisals and application of disciplinary/capability procedures as necessary.

  • Ensure the business site KPI’s are executed as planned with regards to the key metrics that are influenced by the quality department.

  • Ensure self and team compliance to Company Health, Safety and Environment policy

  • Create the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practices with other areas and other internal and external networks

  • Be responsible for establishing, documenting, developing and managing the Quality System and for ensuring that it continues to comply with regulatory requirements and to meet the needs of the business

  • Ensure that all quality related policies and procedures detailed in the Operations, Quality and Company Exposition manuals are adhered to and carry out an ongoing review of the adequacy and effectiveness of Quality System procedures.

  • Maintain and keep current all Quality Audit and inspection records for review at any time by the Competent Authority and other external bodies as appropriate.

  • Liaise with the Regulatory Authority (CAA or other) as may be appropriate on matters related to, the Quality System.

  • Establish procedures for dealing with non\-conformities, monitoring non\-conformity reports and taking corrective/preventive action in response to audit findings.

  • Notify the Accountable Manager and senior management when Management Review meetings are scheduled and present internal audit reports.

  • Review the Quality Systems of new subcontractors who impact the operation and organise audits of their quality assurance systems.

  • Control of the use and application of the Company Minimum Equipment List insofar as it affects airworthiness.

  • Grant authorisation to individuals to certify the Certificate of Release to Service and special authorisations to issue Certificate of Maintenance Review and renewal recommendations for Certificates of Airworthiness.

  • Grant authorisations to individuals to issue Form 1s for work carried out under the organisations Part 145 Approval.

  • Coordinate reports of unairworthy conditions.

  • Define the syllabus of training, in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and the Engineering Training Manager.

  • Ensure the organisation holds all appropriate technical publications, specifications and drawings and that they are amended as required.

  • Conduct all Airworthiness Technical Review meetings.

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Company Exposition / Quality Manual and the negotiation with the CAA (or other approval body) regarding any changes required to the documents, or to the Terms of Approval granted by the Authority to the company.

  • Maintain the Company’s Regulatory Approvals

  • Ensure that all staff who carry out Quality Inspections and Quality audits are adequately trained.

  • Analyse all relevant data and circulate it within the company for information, with recommendations for improvement in quality standards as required.

  • Have overall responsibility for the control of quality records.
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to understand and work to TRT guidelines and observe all TRT policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proven expert in the role of Quality as applied within an Engineering and Manufacturing environment.

  • Good understanding of latest Lean and CI techniques and processes.

  • Demonstrated high level of technical expertise in Aerospace product, special processes and component repair

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written including report writing to internal and external customers.

  • High level of numeracy \& literacy.

  • Proven Leadership experience with good people management skills.

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant Technical/Engineering subject.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of AS9100 \& Aerospace Business Systems

  • Proficient in English
Key Information:

Salary: Competitive \- Dependent on Experience and Qualifications

Hours: Full Time – 37\.5 Hours (Monday\-Friday)
