Hinkley Point C (HPC) is one of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects and will play a major role in the UK’s transition to a low\-carbon energy future.

Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke are working together through the BYLOR joint venture to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C, with a contract value of more than £2\.8 billion.

BYLOR is delivering construction on an exceptional scale, combining major civil engineering expertise with innovative construction methods and technology. The project has already achieved significant engineering milestones, including breaking the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour. The Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join the BYLOR team at Hinkley Point C.

Reporting into and supporting the Central Quality Lead, you will play a key role in establishing, maintaining and overseeing the project's quality management arrangements, measuring their effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.

The role will have particular responsibility for the project's quality assurance, audit, Quality Management System (QMS) and surveillance activities, working closely with project teams, Tier 2 contractors, suppliers, client organisations and other key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Audits \& Assurance

Manage the internal and external audit schedules covering BYLOR's direct delivery scope and Tier 2 contractors.

Undertake regular internal and external audits, working with subject matter experts and other auditors where required.

Track audit reports, findings and corrective actions through to full closure.

Utilise digital reporting systems, including FieldView and Qlik, to support effective audit management and reporting.

Support BYLOR's CARES accreditation.

Coordinate and support the development of colleagues through internal and external auditor training. Quality Management System

Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the project\-wide Quality Management System.

Review and update site\-wide quality documentation and provide guidance on documentation produced by others.

Support the development and maintenance of Quality Plans, Inspection \& Test Plan procedures, quality templates and other quality execution documentation.

Ensure quality arrangements remain aligned with ISO 9001 requirements. Surveillance

Undertake regular reviews of surveillance plans covering Tier 2 scopes, both on and off site.

Support the development of appropriate surveillance plans for contractors and suppliers.

Coordinate the resources required to undertake surveillance activities.

Monitor the effectiveness of surveillance activities and ensure identified actions are appropriately managed and closed. Training, Learning \& Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the development and delivery of site\-wide quality training and help promote a strong quality culture across the project.

Develop and deliver quality fundamentals training for new and existing members of the Quality team.

Identify opportunities for improvement, define appropriate actions and monitor their implementation.

Support the professional development of Quality professionals across the project, including engagement with organisations such as the CQI and routes to professional membership.

Act as a key interface with parent companies to share lessons learned, best practice and improvement opportunities.

Support and promote project management policies, objectives and quality KPIs. Essential Skills \& Experience

Previous experience within a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Quality Assurance or Quality Surveillance role.

Good understanding of civil engineering and construction activities.

Strong practical experience of quality assurance, auditing and Quality Management Systems.

Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.

Experience planning, undertaking and closing out internal and/or external audits.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including with project teams, contractors, suppliers and client organisations.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and activities simultaneously.

Confident working within structured processes and maintaining accurate quality records.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desirable Skills \& Experience

Previous experience on a major infrastructure, civil engineering, energy or nuclear project.

Experience managing quality arrangements across complex supply chains and Tier 2 contractors.

Knowledge of construction surveillance and supplier assurance.

Experience with digital quality and reporting systems such as QlikSense and FieldView.

Experience supporting CARES accreditation.

Membership of, or progress towards membership of, the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI). Location

The role will be predominantly site\-based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, with regular visits to external facilities and suppliers where required to undertake audits and surveillance activities. Why Join Us?
