Pub Assistant Manager

Our modern, village freehold business with seven sites, our own cask and craft brewery, and gin distillery is looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team at our popular location in Mapplewell.
Position Overview:
This position requires someone who is passionate, personable, energetic, and capable of helping to manage and motivate the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve high standards in all aspects of the operation.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for and knowledge of our products: cask and craft, wine, gin, cocktails, and on\-trend food. Experience in A la Carte Restaurant would be ideal.
You must be able to provide customer service that is prompt, helpful, and engaging, so having great social skills is essential. A genuine interest in learning about our products and staying updated with changing offers is also necessary.
Your Role:
- Deliver excellent customer service, exceeding expectations and achieving exceptional customer satisfaction results.
- Assist and support the site general manager in effectively running the pub, being aware of and proactive about the condition of the building inside and out.
- Coordinate and manage restaurant service, ensuring all aspects are executed smoothly and to a high standard. This require prompt and professional written communication via messenger and email as well as telephone.
- Contribute content for subscribed social media platforms.
- Be hands\-on.
- Maintain all company procedures, food standards, and health and safety policies.
- Occasionally present the weekly pub quiz in a fun and professional manner.
- Manage and maintain exceptional cleanliness standards around all areas of the pub.
- Adhere to clear company cash handling, storage, and banking procedures.
- Beer line cleaning and cellar management.
- Bring fun and enjoyment to the service team while ensuring the service level remains professional, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and attitude.
- Identify new ways to improve guest experience and, in conjunction with other management, introduce these to the pub.
- Handle customer complaints (written or verbal) in an assertive, pleasant, and professional manner to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Understand and follow company policies and procedures regarding personnel matters.
- Understand weekly sales vs. wage reports and act accordingly to reduce over or understaffing on shifts.
- Manage or assist with managing bar stock at the pubs to ensure efficient stock holding and rotation, minimizing wastage.
- Understand and manage the company operating systems for staff rota, restaurant bookings, and online ordering.
