Job description
-------------------

This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

Join us as a Property Valuation Controls Manager

  • We're looking for a RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Registered Valuer to join us in this role, where you'll be at the forefront of protecting the bank and supporting end\-to\-end assurance activity for retail mortgage property valuations

  • Day\-to\-day, you’ll work collaboratively with a number of internal and external stakeholders to identify risks and address any identified gaps, managing any incidents or issues raised through front line customer contact

  • This role offers the advantage of a varied breadth of work, supporting stakeholders across the bank and creating a safer environment for our customers, with excellent opportunities for development

  • This is a remote\-first role, so you’ll spend most of your time at home, working with your team digitally and coming into the office a minimum of twice a month
What you'll do
------------------

As a Property Valuation Controls Manager, you'll design, develop, implement and undertake assurance activity in relation to the retail mortgage valuation process.

This role will see you delivering tasks and activities related to the ongoing management of risk issues within the business. You'll identify and address risks, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Second Line of Defence, controls teams and senior management, to close identified gaps.

In addition, you'll be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and analysing operational, conduct, credit and regulatory risks, and identifying related issues and any areas for improvement

  • Delivering against channel and central actions, in line with the risk appetite and direction set by management

  • Supporting the development of the residential mortgage valuation strategy, along with robust assurance activity

  • Supporting the evolution of valuation assurance activity towards a more data\-led approach, leveraging in\-depth analysis and insight
The skills you'll need
--------------------------

To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills as you’ll be building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, developing and using these networks across internal and external organisations.

A background in assurance and risk management methodologies would be advantageous, along with a good understanding of the application of operational risk within a financial services environment. It's essential that you have a good knowledge of the bank’s valuation policies or the external mortgage valuation market, and that you hold an MRICS, FRICS or AssocRICS qualification.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience of operating in an audit, assurance or risk function

  • Experience of managing and influencing relationships with stakeholders and building positive working relationships

  • The ability to influence at all levels
