About the Role

We are a newly established law firm based in Blackpool, and we are looking for an experienced and qualified Solicitor to join us on a part\-time basis as our Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and Office Manager. This is a unique opportunity to play a founding role in shaping a new firm from the ground up, with genuine flexibility over working hours and days.

What You Will Be Doing

As COLP, you will be responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with all obligations under the SRA Standards and Regulations, including the Code of Conduct for Firms, the Accounts Rules, and our AML obligations. You will act as the firm's designated compliance officer with the SRA, manage risk registers, and oversee the implementation of compliance policies and procedures.In your Office Manager capacity, you will oversee the day\-to\-day operational running of the firm, including HR administration, supplier relationships, IT coordination, and ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with the firm's principal solicitor and play a key role in building the firm's culture and processes from the outset.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor admitted to the roll in England and Wales, with a minimum of 3 years post\-qualification experience (PQE). You will have a sound understanding of SRA regulation and compliance, including AML, client care obligations, and the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Experience in practice management or a previous COLP designation is highly desirable. You will be organised, detail\-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a start\-up environment.
