The Role

You will take responsibility for credit control and account administration across a portfolio of properties.

Working closely with Property Managers, Surveyors, tenants and external professionals, you will help ensure charges are collected on time, accounts are accurately maintained and outstanding balances are managed effectively.

You will have ownership of your accounts and the opportunity to use your judgement to resolve issues, identify risks and recommend appropriate action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue rent, service charge, insurance and other property\-related demands.

  • Monitor outstanding balances and proactively manage arrears.

  • Take ownership of accounts from initial follow\-up through to resolution.

  • Investigate account queries and resolve payment issues.

  • Work closely with Property Managers and Surveyors on recovery decisions.

  • Communicate professionally with tenants and other stakeholders.

  • Identify higher\-risk accounts and recommend appropriate action.

  • Liaise with solicitors, debt recovery agents, tracing agents and other external specialists when required.

  • Monitor referred cases and ensure appropriate follow\-up.

  • Allocate and reconcile payments accurately.

  • Investigate unidentified or incorrectly allocated receipts.

  • Maintain clear and accurate account records.

  • Prepare arrears reports and provide useful updates to management.

  • Ensure credit control activity follows company procedures, lease requirements and relevant legislation.

  • Help improve credit control processes as the business continues to grow.
About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and comfortable taking responsibility for their own portfolio.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in credit control, property administration or property accounting.

  • An understanding of service charges and property\-related accounts.

  • The ability to understand lease obligations and relevant legal documentation when required.

  • Strong communication and relationship\-building skills.

  • Good judgement and problem\-solving ability.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • The confidence to manage accounts independently and prioritise effectively.

  • Experience dealing with solicitors, debt recovery agents or other external professionals.

  • Good Microsoft Office skills and experience using accounting or property management systems.
