Project Planner
Buttimer Engineering is headquartered in Ireland and delivers design and engineering projects internationally. We are growing, diversified engineering business, specialising in bulk materials handling systems and high\-quality steel fabrication. We are expanding into new sectors and regions with our core areas of expertise including engineering design, materials handling, BOP turnkey solutions \& modular build.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a *Project Planner* to join our project team. The Project Planner will work closely with the project managers, engineering teams, and senior leadership to develop robust project programmes, track progress, identify risks, and provide clear reporting to support informed decision\-making and on\-time project delivery.
About You
- Proven experience as a Planner or Planning Engineer within an engineering or construction environment.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary project programmes.
- Advanced proficiency in planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of project controls and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solutions\-focused, and commercially aware
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary team.
This role is based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary and you will be required to travel to our sites in Ireland and in Europe.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6, MS Project or similar.
- Prepare tender, contract, baseline, current and recovery programmes.
- Produce 2–6 week lookahead programmes, daily/weekly work plans and programme narratives.
- Manage programme sequencing across Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, BMS and controls.
- Monitor progress against baseline, analyse critical path, delays, float and programme risks.
- Coordinate M\&E activities with main contractors, civil/structural teams, architects and specialist subcontractors.
- Track procurement, long\-lead items, manufacturing and delivery dates.
- Develop manpower histograms, resource forecasts and productivity reports.
- Carry out what\-if, impacted programme and Time Impact Analysis (TIA).
- Support EOT claims and delay analysis where required.
- Prepare weekly progress reports, dashboards and KPI reports.
- Plan and coordinate testing, commissioning, client witnessing and phased handover.
- Support project teams with programme recovery, mitigation and resource planning.
