Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail oriented Intermediate or Senior Project Manager to join our Cambridge office, with strong experience delivering Employers Agent services on construction and development projects. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Your leadership will ensure seamless collaboration among cross functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a passion for driving project success through effective management and communication.
Responsibilities
- Acting as Employers Agent under JCT Design and Build contracts, managing the contract administration process from appointment to practical completion and final account.
- Leading project management delivery across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed\-use schemes
- Chairing progress meetings, managing programme, cost and risk, and reporting to clients and stakeholders
- Reviewing contractor design submissions, valuations, variations and extension of time claims
- Certifying practical completion, managing defects periods and final certifications
- Supporting business development and maintaining client relationships across the Cambridge and wider East Anglia market
- Line management and mentoring of junior project management staff, as appropriate to seniority
Essential
- Proven experience acting as Employers Agent, ideally under JCT Design and Build
- Track record of project managing construction projects from inception through to completion
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, cost control and programme management
- Excellent client facing and communication skills
- Full UK driving license, with willingness to travel to sites across the region
- MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards)
- Degree in construction related discipline (quantity surveying, project management, construction or similar)
- Experience across a range of sectors, including residential, education, commercial and healthcare
- NEC contract experience in addition to JCT
- Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience and qualifications
