Salary: £25,389 – £30,000 per year, depending on experience and ability

Tyrrell Services Limited is looking for a Project \& Installation Engineer Assistant to join our growing Projects \& Installation team.

For this position, you must live in Bracknell or the immediate surrounding area. As a driving licence is not required, being locally based is important so you can work directly alongside our Projects \& Installation team and travel with them to customer sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is practical, physically capable, reliable and willing to work hard while developing experience within commercial catering installations.

You do not need to be a qualified engineer and a driving licence is not required.

We’re looking for someone who can become a reliable additional pair of hands for our experienced engineers — helping with equipment movements, installations, site preparation and general project works while developing their own technical knowledge.

THE ROLE

As a Project \& Installation Engineer Assistant, you'll work alongside our experienced engineers on commercial catering projects and equipment installations.

Your work will include:

• Assisting engineers with commercial catering equipment installations


• Unloading, moving and positioning commercial kitchen equipment


• Lifting and manoeuvring heavy equipment safely as part of a team


• Removing existing equipment ready for replacement


• Preparing equipment and work areas for installation


• Assisting with deliveries and site logistics


• Supporting engineers with installation tasks


• Assisting with electrical, plumbing and mechanical works where appropriate and under supervision


• Loading and unloading vehicles


• Using hand and power tools safely


• Following drawings, instructions and project requirements


• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe


• Supporting engineers throughout larger installation projects


• Looking after tools, equipment and materials


• Communicating professionally with customers, site teams and colleagues


• Following company health \& safety procedures at all times

As your knowledge and experience develop, there will be opportunities to learn more about electrical, plumbing, gas and commercial catering installation work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're not necessarily looking for someone who already has years of experience.

We're looking for someone with the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.

You should:

• Live in Bracknell or the immediate surrounding area


• Be physically capable of lifting, shifting and manoeuvring commercial equipment


• Be practical and comfortable working with your hands


• Be willing to undertake physical work


• Be reliable and punctual


• Be prepared for early starts when projects require them


• Be willing to learn from experienced engineers


• Be able to follow instructions and work safely


• Take pride in doing a job properly


• Work well as part of a team


• Be comfortable working on different customer sites


• Be willing to develop new technical skills


• Take ownership of the tasks you're given and see them through

A driving licence is NOT required for this position.

Previous experience or basic knowledge in any of the following would be desirable but is not essential:

• Electrical work


• Plumbing


• Gas works


• Mechanical work


• Construction


• Commercial kitchens


• Equipment installation


• Property maintenance


• General building or trade work

Qualifications in these areas are welcomed, but we're equally interested in someone who has practical ability and wants the opportunity to learn.
