Project Delivery Manager
Do you enjoy taking ownership of complex projects and turning plans into successful delivery? We're looking for experienced Project Delivery Managers to lead projects and change initiatives from mobilisation through to implementation and transition.
About the role
You'll have end\-to\-end accountability for your assigned projects, ensuring agreed outputs are delivered within scope, time, cost and quality expectations.
This is a hands\-on delivery role. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, actively manage plans, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies and make sure issues are addressed before they become barriers to successful delivery. You'll also ensure projects transition effectively into the business and create the capability needed to realise their intended benefits.
What will you be doing?
As Project Delivery Manager, you will:
- Lead assigned projects and initiatives throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Coordinate the development of business cases, bringing together the inputs needed to support investment decisions.
- Develop and actively manage integrated plans, milestones, critical paths, budgets and resources.
- Select and tailor predictive, agile, iterative or hybrid delivery approaches according to the initiative.
- Lead multidisciplinary delivery teams and hold workstream leads, partners and suppliers accountable for commitments.
- Actively manage scope, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and change.
- Monitor and forecast delivery and financial performance, intervening early where performance moves outside agreed tolerances.
- Maintain appropriate governance, assurance and project controls.
- Coordinate implementation, transition and handover into operational use.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- A recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent, or comparable professional competence developed through substantial delivery experience.
- Sound professional judgement and the confidence to take ownership of delivery decisions.
- A practical understanding of different delivery methodologies and when to adapt your approach.
- Strong financial awareness and confidence managing forecasts, commitments and variances.
- Effective influencing skills and the confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders, secure decisions and maintain delivery momentum across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive approach to risk, problem\-solving and recovery when delivery moves off track.
Your CV should clearly demonstrate:
- A track record of successfully leading projects or change initiatives through the full delivery lifecycle.
- Experience of managing integrated project plans covering scope, schedules, milestones, resources and delivery controls.
- Evidence of direct accountability for project budgets and financial performance, including forecasting and managing variances.
- Experience of leading multidisciplinary delivery teams and managing complex risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder relationships.
