Professional Services Engineer – Cloud, Infrastructure \& Cybersecurity

Dublin \| Hybrid \| €65,000–€80,000 DOE \+ benefits

Progression opportunity to Technical Lead / Head of Professional Services

A growing Irish Managed Services Provider is looking for an experienced Professional Services Engineer to join its Dublin\-based team.

This is primarily a project delivery role rather than a technical support position.

It could suit a strong Level 2 engineer who has already gained solid customer project experience and wants to move further into Professional Services, or an established Level 3 / Professional Services Engineer looking for greater technical ownership and career progression.

You'll work across a varied SME customer base, delivering projects spanning Azure, Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity and BCDR.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Scope, plan and deliver customer IT projects from discovery through implementation, testing, documentation and handover.

  • Deliver server and infrastructure migrations, including migrations to Microsoft Azure.

  • Implement and secure Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune environments.

  • Deliver server, firewall, networking and infrastructure upgrade projects.

  • Design and implement BCDR, backup and resilience solutions.

  • Assess customer environments and recommend practical cybersecurity improvements.

  • Work with MDR, SIEM and SOC providers, interpreting findings and coordinating remediation.

  • Carry out practical internal and external security/vulnerability assessments, bringing in specialist providers where required.

  • Assist SME customers with practical cybersecurity policies and procedures.

  • Work directly with customers throughout project delivery.

  • Contribute to technical discovery, solution design, project scoping and pre\-sales.
What We're Looking For

You don't need to tick every technical box, but you must be able to demonstrate genuine customer project delivery experience rather than solely technical support, ticket resolution or administration.

Your project experience might include:

  • Microsoft 365 migrations or deployments

  • Entra ID / Intune implementations

  • Firewall and network installations or upgrades

  • Server upgrades or migrations

  • Azure/cloud migration projects

  • Infrastructure refreshes

  • Security or BCDR projects
We're particularly interested in engineers who have taken ownership of several stages of a project — discovery, planning, implementation, troubleshooting, customer communication, documentation and handover.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong L2, L3 or Professional Services engineering experience.

  • Good Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune knowledge.

  • Azure experience, ideally including migration or implementation projects.

  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory skills.

  • Good networking knowledge across firewalls, switching, wireless, VLANs and VPNs.

  • Practical understanding of cybersecurity, vulnerability management and BCDR.

  • Familiarity with MDR, SIEM and/or SOC services.

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation and project delivery skills.
MSP or multi\-customer IT experience would be particularly valuable.

Customer\-Facing Skills

Technical ability is only part of the role. You'll need to be comfortable working directly with SME customers, understanding what they're trying to achieve and explaining your recommendations clearly.

You'll be expected to take ownership, communicate confidently with customers and work alongside sales/account management on technical discovery, solution design and pre\-sales.

Career Opportunity

For the right person, this is an opportunity to move beyond support and escalations into projects, solution design, customer consulting and technical leadership.

As the business grows, there is genuine potential to progress towards Technical Lead and ultimately Head of Professional Services, helping shape technical standards, future technologies and the managed services and solutions offered to customers.
