Job Description:
Your New Role
Working on a shift basis based (days \& afters) at the TMC you will be responsible for liaising with Fleet Planning to develop and deliver the o perational maintenance schedule with the necessary information to allow the effective and efficient execution of rolling stock maintenance in accordance with contractual requirements.
What you’ll be doing
- Focus on the local daily and weekly maintenance plan for the Train Maintenance centre (TMC) in order to develop and continually refine the maintenance schedule for the IEP /WOE Class 80 0/2 fleet s .
- Review , prioritise and schedule maintenance tasks with the Team Leaders \& Fleet Planning in accor dance with maintenance plan priorities.
- Identify any rest rictions \& resource capacity that could affect the delivery of the maintenance plan. Work with the local management and Fleet Planning to reduce the effect of the restriction.
- Review SAP notification, ensuring material demands are in place, \& coordinate with Material colleges to ensure correct stock of material.
- I dentify , coordinate and leverage resources to enable the maintenance schedule including the technical information and any material required .
- Coordinate the work of contractors and external repair agencies into the maintenance schedule.
- M onitor the backlog of defects in order to reduce the amount of reactive maintenance and improve reliability.
- Be reactive to incidents, disruptions and emergencies on the operational railway and amend the maintenance schedule accordingly; record decisions to drive improvement.
- Ensure defects in\-service and emerging work is incorporated into the maintenance schedule.
- Liaise with Fleet Planning, the Duty Shift Manager (DSM) and Team Leaders (TL) to agree the maintenance plan to be executed.
- Administer and manage technical investigations to ensure timely resolution.
- Utilise the SAP Maintenance Management System (MMS) and other IT applications in order to inform and d evelop the workload plan.
- Ensuring SOROS is accurate at all times.
- Review of all defects and correct coding in SAP in line with IEP /WOE contractual obligations.
- Prepare reports and give verbal briefs as required .
- Participate in the daily conference calls \& planning meetings .
- Act as the SAP super user for the TMC.
- Co\-ordinate with the Training Department to plan training and assessment while maintaining resource requirements .
- Promote, support and comply with all health and safety practices in the workplace .
- Any other duties as directed by the Production Planning Manager .
Essential
Licences / Competences
- Previous experience of scheduling maintenance and production.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to think quickly.
- Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – SAP, Maximo or Equinox.
- Vocational qualifications and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
Licences / Competences
- Intermediate IT skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Previous experience of rolling stock maintenance.
