About you:
We are looking for a positive, adaptable team player with excellent attention to detail, effective communication and strong organisational skills.
Duties \& responsibilities:
- Assist with the bottling and packaging of medicinal and food supplement products, using fully automatic and semi\-automatic filling and packaging machinery, ensuring goods are filled and packaged accurately to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
- Understand and follow all GMP, Health \& Safety procedures, and HACCP/Food safety protocols to maintain high quality standards and participate in relevant training
- Set up and operate filling and packaging machinery. Assist with changeovers and maintenance, ensuring smooth operation, identifying and reporting any faults or issues
- Support Quality Control procedures and complete packaging paperwork accurately and to company standards
- Safely move raw materials, packaging components and finished goods to and from designated goods\-in, production and goods\-out areas using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment
- Keep the production rooms \& machinery clean and clear to GMP standards and, assist with planned preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules
- Communicate with and work as part of the team, helping the department meet production deadlines effectively
- Provide occasional support to our Assembly and Despatch Departments by picking \& packing a range of medicinal, food supplement and food products, or marketing materials to match orders, of numerous quantities and sizes, for trade and retail customers and ensure these goods are packed accurately and timeously
- Provide help with any other associated production related tasks, as and when required
- Actively contribute as a member Production team, working towards goals and helping to develop and continually improve our services and procedures
- Previous experience of working within a Manufacturing/Distribution/Bottling/Cleanroom/Environmentally Controlled Area would be advantageous
- Educated to Standard Grade or National 3/4/5 level with passes in English and Maths as a minimum
- Computer literate as the role involves using a bespoke Information Management System and a reasonable knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail is essential due to handling medicinal products and food supplements, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assess situations, to quickly solve issues
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy skills as the role involves calculations and completing packaging documentation accurately
- An organised individual who can effectively contribute and work well with a team whilst using their own initiative
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships, ensuring effective communication with colleagues
- Capable of working in a physically demanding production environment involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching and repetitive tasks
- Self\-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and a willingness to learn
The successful candidate will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a 3 month probationary period to monitor performance, training and skills attained to help assess suitability to perform the role on a permanent basis.
