An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Manager to join a successful and growing food manufacturing business operating within a high-care, chilled food environment.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, leading large production teams, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of production operations across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring production plans are delivered on time, in full, and within budget.
You will lead and develop Production Supervisors and Line Leaders, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities • Lead daily production operations to ensure customer orders are delivered OTIF (On Time In Full).
- Drive operational performance through improved efficiencies, productivity and OEE.
- Monitor labour utilisation, yields, waste and production costs to maximise profitability.
- Champion continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality and health & safety standards.
- Maintain audit readiness for BRCGS, retailer and regulatory audits.
- Manage and develop production teams, creating a high-performance culture.
- Work closely with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Supply Chain teams to achieve operational objectives.
- Investigate production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support operational projects and business improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements • Proven Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager experience within food manufacturing.
- Experience managing large teams within a high-volume production environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience working within BRCGS-accredited manufacturing facilities.
- Demonstrable experience improving OEE, reducing waste and driving efficiencies.
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to analyse production data and drive improvements.
- Food Safety Level 3 or 4 qualification.
- HACCP Level 3 or 4 qualification.
- Lean Manufacturing training or qualifications.
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
