This Product Manager role is specifically within the Response, Exceptions and Analytics Team who are the IT function that serve key internal customer groups within Customer Compliance Group (CCG). We act as a trusted partner and translate business need into technology outcomes. You will be working within a highly established Product Management Team who manage the Caseflow Suite Products and will be working with our customers to plan and deliver a series of enhancements to the Case Management Product, working with Pega and Documentum applications.
Job description
A Product Manager is responsible for facilitating a product team to build and release digital products or features. Product Managers understand the business goals, the user needs for the service, and the different options for how to build and scope the digital product according to those needs. Product Managers at HMRC can make use of multiple learning and development opportunities to develop their product management skills if joining at entry level. Additionally, they follow the Government Digital and Data (GDaD) capability framework and career paths.### Person specification
You will:
- Deliver product features/enhancements for the Case Management suite of products, working with both Pega and Documentum applications and applying both agile methodologies effectively.
- Define the scope of the service and adapt it to user research insights or as business objectives evolve.
- Engage stakeholders to get buy in for the product vision and roadmaps.
- Work, coach and mentor with a multidisciplinary agile product delivery teams (civil servants or suppliers) with skills such as user research, service design, business analysis, or software engineering to shape the product and build it.
- Own and maintain backlogs of user stories (which describe features and functions a user should be able to do on the product) and prioritise the order in which they will be built and released to users. These should be in line with the goals of the product set by the organisation.
- Work with the Leads in your area to understand different options for how a product or digital service might be developed, and the high\-level financial case for the options.
- Plan, organise and manage the various types of sprint ceremonies.
- Giving and receiving product feedback, helping facilitate feedback loops.
- Take ownership of team deliverables when they require and deliver value to the business.
- Management and trend analysis of Incidents and problem records in ServiceNow and facilitate prioritisation with other Product Owners.
- Collaborate with other Product Managers and business stakeholders to align delivery with strategic goals.
- Communicate delivery progress and benefits to stakeholders at all levels.
- Participate in, and contribute to the Product management community of practice, whether through taking part in community initiatives, running sessions or talks, or other activities which support other product managers.
- Experience coordinating business\-as\-usual roadmaps across multiple teams and integrating Spending Review programmes and external changes into a coherent delivery plan.
- Experience managing and analysing production Incident and Problem records in ServiceNow, including trend analysis and facilitating prioritisation decisions with Product Owners.
- Experience managing Kanban boards and Scrum delivery in Jira, alongside maintaining documentation within Confluence.
- Demonstrated experience of planning and running all sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stand ups.
- Certified Scrum Master or similar qualification.
- Working knowledge of Pega and Documentum applications.
- Experience of managing staff.
- Working knowledge of ITIL v4\.
- Experience of conflict resolution/negotiation and/or bringing people together to form motivated and empowered teams.
