Procurement Manager
Requirement for a Procurement Manager with proven experience in a manufacturing environment, to support Internal processes and provide support with customer and supplier quality related tasks.
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's procurement strategy to ensure the efficient, cost\-effective, and timely supply of materials, components, goods, and services required to support manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations.
The role will lead supplier management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, inventory optimisation, and procurement process improvement initiatives while ensuring continuity of supply, quality standards, and cost control.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a procurement or purchasing management role.
- Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
- Experience managing procurement budgets and cost reduction programmes.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Understanding of inventory management and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and standards in logistics and transportation
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Lead sourcing and tendering activities for key suppliers and categories.
- Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and supply risks.
- Develop long\-term supplier partnerships and sourcing strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and audits.
- Manage supplier contracts and service level agreements.
- Resolve supplier performance and quality issues.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruption.
- Manage purchasing activities across manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, consumables, MRO items, and services.
- Monitor purchasing performance against budget and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Approve purchase orders within delegated authority limits.
- Work closely with Production, Warehousing, and Planning teams to ensure material availability.
- Support MRP and demand planning processes.
- Optimise stock levels while balancing service and working capital requirements.
- Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow\-moving inventory.
- Monitor supplier lead times and supply performance.
- Deliver annual procurement savings targets.
- Negotiate pricing, rebates, and commercial agreements.
- Conduct spend analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Track procurement savings and benefits realised.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Warehouse teams.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes.
- Participate in strategic planning and operational review meetings.
- Provide procurement expertise across the business.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.
- Maintain accurate supplier and procurement records.
- Support ESG, sustainability, and ethical sourcing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead improvements in procurement processes and systems.
- Support and maintain ERP systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Develop procurement reporting and dashboards.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain.
