Main purpose of the role:

To take hands on responsibility for the estimates, assisting with bids \& tenders writing when required. Buying of electrical supplies, materials, goods and services to the business, negotiating the best deals and contracts available on the market.

Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for

· Assist the Operations Director to prepare and submit funding, tender applications, grant responses and project estimates.

· To write appropriate content for tender applications, working with subject experts across the organisation.

· To attend site and prepare quotes/estimates for works together with site surveys and RAM’s.

· Develop and maintain a library of tender information, case studies and content to support bid submissions.

· Source the purchasing of electrical supplies and materials at the best market rate constantly negotiating a better deal.

· Source the purchase of other goods and services to the business to get the best market rate and contractual terms.

· Negotiate and agree payment terms with suppliers conducting reference checks when required.

· Explore new sources of supply to maintain competitive supply sources and reduce costs.

· Develop strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring key suppliers are delivering best value for money.

· Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements and renewals with suppliers.

· Assist the technical team ensuring the PO system is accurately maintained.

· Provide monthly analysis on cost savings across the business.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Minimum 5 years previous experience in writing project proposals and tender responses

· Some electrical qualifications and previous experience in the electrical sector essential.

· Excellent project or tender composition and compiling skills.

· Procurement experience ideally within the electrical or construction industry

· Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the business.

· Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to close a deal.

· The ability to work under pressure, to strict deadlines, strong organisation, planning and excellent time management skills.

· Ability to review lengthy documents and summarise key points.

· Excellent IT skills with good knowledge of Microsoft packages

· Commitment to see the job through from start to finish.

· Team player, keen to help others to learn and achieve.

· Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how delay or failure impacts project delivery and the business

as a whole.

· Good understanding of Health \& Safety legislation, RAM’s and site surveys

Pay: £40,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
