Private Client Solicitor (Partner) – Stamford, Lincolnshire

To support this momentum, the firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join at Partner level, taking a leading role in shaping the future of the department across Stamford and the surrounding region.

The Role
The successful Partner will bring strong experience across a broad range of Private Client matters, including:
- Complex wills
- Succession and inheritance tax planning for individuals, agricultural clients and business owners
- Administration of taxable and complex estates
- Creation of trusts
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
Leadership & Growth
This Partner will play a central role in the development of the Private Client practice, contributing to:
- Departmental strategy and service delivery
- Team growth, supervision and mentoring
- Business development, networking and relationship-building
- Enhancing client experience and strengthening referrer networks
Location
Primarily based at the Stamford office, with regular travel to nearby offices across the region. A full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality advice on wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, succession and tax planning
- Provide exceptional service to HNW individuals, agricultural clients and business owners
- Produce fee income in line with agreed targets
- Support business development and relationship-building
- Contribute to departmental strategy and growth
- Mentor junior team members and support workflow management
- Maintain strong financial control, including billing and cash-flow management
- Keep up to date with legal developments and maintain technical expertise
You are a seasoned Private Client specialist who combines technical expertise with commercial awareness and a genuine passion for client care. You thrive in environments where you can influence direction, support others and help build something meaningful.
You will bring:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Strong experience in succession and inheritance tax planning, particularly for agricultural and business clients
- Expertise in complex wills, LPAs, trusts and taxable estate administration
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and ideally experience with case management systems
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between offices
- Thinks strategically but delivers practically
- Communicates clearly, empathetically and with authority
- Builds strong relationships quickly and maintains them with care
- Makes decisions using sound judgement and analytical insight
- Works with diplomacy, assertiveness and discretion
- Remains calm under pressure and meets deadlines with confidence

- Has or is working towards STEP qualification (desirable)
