Private Client Solicitor

Our client is seeking a Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive to join their reputable and successful team in Birmingham.

Essential responsibilities:

• Preparation of wills and trusts;


• Preparation of Probate Applications


• LPAs,


• Applications to the Court of Protection and advising elderly and vulnerable clients.


• Contentious and non-contentious probate


• Deed of variations and gifts


• Administration of estates (small/large) and trusts;


• Dealing with queries corresponding with solicitors, Probate Registry, Land Registry, OPG and other 3rd party companies as appropriate to each case

Desirable Responsibilities:

• Advising on trusts for pension and life insurance policies;


• Advising on tax matters with emphasis on Inheritance Tax mitigation;


• Advising clients with regard to elderly issues


• Estate planning for asset protection with a focus on tax minimisation, care fees and third party creditors;


• Managing relationships with IFAs, accountants and clients and must be willing to work closely with other departments within the firm on joint projects.

Main purposes of role

• Undertake fee earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department.


• Ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.

Qualifications

• 2+ years PQE experience as a broad-spectrum private client Solicitor/Legal Executive. The candidate will also


• require an excellent track record as a solicitor and solid academic background
