Principal Scientist - Peripheral Neuroimmunology
Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Principal Scientist – Peripheral Neuroimmunology who is passionate, hands\-on, and collaborative to join us in our Neuroinflammation Research team, based in our UCB Pharma office in Braine\-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will play a key role in advancing research targeting immune\-mediated neurological diseases, with a focus on peripheral immunology. This is a highly hands\-on, lab\-based position where you will design and execute experiments, generate high\-quality data, and contribute to pipeline projects. You will help translate scientific insights into impactful outcomes while working closely with cross\-functional teams in a growing research area.
Who you’ll work with
You will be working in a team that is part of our Neuroinflammation Focus Area, collaborating closely with a Group Leader and fellow scientists. The team is expanding to support new strategic priorities, bringing together expertise in immunology and neuroscience. You will interact regularly with internal partners and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative environment focused on delivering meaningful scientific progress.
What you’ll do
- Design and execute laboratory experiments exploring immune–nervous system interactions
- Generate high\-quality data supporting target discovery and validation efforts
- Contribute to research projects with a translational and pipeline\-focused mindset
- Analyze and interpret data from molecular, imaging, and functional assays
- Collaborate with cross\-functional teams and external scientific partners
- Ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, and compliance in all experimental work
- PhD in immunology, neuroscience, or related field, with postdoctoral experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment preferred
- Strong expertise in peripheral immunology and neuroimmune interactions
- Hands\-on experience with laboratory techniques and functional immune assays
- Interest in drug discovery and early research pipeline activities
- Strong communication skills and passion for experimental bench work
