Principal Mechanical Engineer
Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a key client operating within the UK nuclear sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well\-established programme of work supporting a range of high\-profile nuclear projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of complex engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment, providing technical leadership and supporting multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of mechanical engineering and design activities across major nuclear projects.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
- Develop and review engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Support multidisciplinary project delivery within complex and highly regulated environments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety requirements and client specifications.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to engineering reviews, risk assessments and technical decision\-making processes.
- Extensive experience as a Principal Mechanical Engineer, Lead Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer.
- Strong background within the nuclear industry.
- Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering and design solutions on complex projects.
- Experience working within EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) environments or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrable ability to lead technical delivery and support multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting major nuclear new\-build, decommissioning or defence programmes.
- Familiarity with UK nuclear regulations and standards.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
