EXCLUSIVE TO CHROMA: Due to continuing expansion, a globally recognised engineering firm are looking to grow their design team. As part of this growth, they are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the full design lifecycle and become a subject matter expert for their division.

The successful Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will operate in multi\-functional project teams and be tasked with leading cutting\-edge design projects. Key duties include client liaison, concept design, 3D / 2D CAD, calculations, test \& validation and overseeing your work into build and commissioning. As a Principal level engineer, you will also become a subject matter expert for your product group and will get to mentor the more Junior/Graduate Engineers.

The company design a highly bespoke range of Special Purpose \& Capital Machinery, through to Precision Electro\-Mechanical Instruments. Each project is both different and highly interesting. They also have an excellent benefits package and career development opportunities.

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer requirements

· Degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)

· Experience in a similar position – designing capital machinery / fabrications (or similar)

· 3D CAD – Creo or SolidWorks (or similar)

· GD\&T

· Engineering 1st principles, hand calculations \& simulations

· Project Management

· Able to travel from time\-to\-time
