About the team/Department you will be joining:

Our Analysis and Research Team is a dedicated group of analysts, researchers and intelligence professionals who are passionate about turning information into insight. We work closely with operational officers, senior leaders and partner agencies to understand emerging threats, identify opportunities and support informed decision\-making. Joining the team means becoming part of a supportive and forward\-thinking environment where innovation, professional development and making a real difference to public safety are at the centre of everything we do.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

As Principal Analyst you will hold senior management position as head of the analytical function, with responsibility for managing and developing intelligence analysis within the organisation, to inform decision\-making and mitigate threat, risk and harm.

Key responsibilities for the role include;

  • Direct, shape, develop and co\-ordinate the provision of the organisation’s intelligence analytical function, in order to provide a clear and consistent set of products that inform decision\-making at a strategic, tactical and operational level.

  • Develop and co\-ordinate strategies for intelligence analysis, designing and shaping analytical processes, contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring that the analytical function is operating in line with objectives.

  • Lead and inspire people to improve performance, providing direction and advising on professional development, in order to ensure that a professional and efficient service is provided at all times.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
  • Must have previous management and leadership experience.

  • Must have the ability to undertake intelligence analysis at a strategic and tactical level.

  • Must possess excellent presentation skills, and be able to produce comprehensive, logical and structured reports and recommendations, at a senior management level.
Desirable
  • Welsh Language Level 2 \- Can understand the essence of a conversation in Welsh, and can convey basic information and respond to simple requests in Welsh. Can use Welsh to transfer telephone calls. Can introduce oneself and others by name, role, and location/organisation.
