We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. Ideally needs to be a car driver due to location of the prison

HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,100, and has a varied and complex population.

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead you will have oversight of the whole of primary care however you will directly manage a team of 6 team leaders, this role will be a split of 70% managerial and 30% clinical.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, based within the healthcare department, and will also be required to work across the prison wings.

Salary:

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £51,643 \- £58,012 per annum FTE \- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.

  • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.

  • Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.

  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.

  • Clinical Lead you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.

Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and for the wider region.

Registered Nurse – Adult* (NMC)

  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
