Are you an experienced facilities professional looking for a meaningful management role where your work directly impacts the safety, wellbeing, and education of young people?

Addington school is part of the Ascendancy Partnership Trust, a multi\-academy trust with deep community roots across the Berkshire area composed of a family of SEN schools all specialising in learning difficulties.

Our main school site is located in Woodley, Reading and we also have a smaller Early Years Centre located in Farley Hill.

We can offer:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme and Life Assurance Scheme

  • Generous annual leave entitlement, some of which can be used to take leave during term time

  • Blue Light Card

  • Free onsite parking

  • Wellbeing support

  • Family friendly policies

  • Access to employee discount and lifestyle rewards scheme tailored for public sector workers providing exclusive deals and savings on retail shopping, holidays, motoring and leisure activities

  • Opportunity to work with a team of professionals across the Trust

  • Continuous professional development and learning opportunities
We are seeking a dedicated, highly organised, and proactive Premises Manager to lead day\-to\-day maintenance, operations, and compliance across our school and designated satellite site.

You will ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment, while managing specialist facilities (such as a hydrotherapy pool and sensory spaces), transport fleet, and essential support services like cleaning and catering.

If you possess a "safety\-first" mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex operations with empathy and professionalism, we want to hear from you.

About You:

You will have significant experience in facilities or estates management, ideally including experience within a school or SEND setting.

With a deep understanding of statutory compliance, building systems, plant maintenance and contractor management, you will also be familiar with compliance software, safeguarding practices and will have strong line management and leadership capabilities to develop a diverse team.

With excellent communication and IT skills (including Microsoft Office and compliance tracking platforms), you will possess exceptional organisational abilities to balance daily tasks with emergency reactive work. You will have a compassionate, pupil\-focused approach to site safety and will be reliable, calm under pressure and a proactive team player.

A flexible approach is required, including a commitment to safeguarding and a willingness to handle occasional evening or weekend operational needs.
