Job RoleRingway is looking for an experienced and driven Pre\-Construction Manager to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in securing and shaping the future of our highways and infrastructure portfolio.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional who thrives on building client relationships, developing winning solutions and leading the pre\-construction process on complex highway maintenance, improvement and infrastructure schemes across the UK.
As Pre\-Construction Manager, you will take ownership of the entire pre\-construction process, leading bid and tender activities whilst ensuring projects are fully developed, competitively priced and operationally deliverable before being handed over to delivery teams.
You will be responsible for coordinating internal stakeholders, managing client relationships, driving value engineering initiatives and ensuring all submissions are completed to the highest standard.
Duties* Lead and manage pre\-construction activities across multiple projects and frameworks.
- Coordinate bid, estimating, design, commercial and operational teams throughout tender stages.
- Develop and implement winning bid strategies and delivery methodologies.
- Review tender documentation and identify project risks, opportunities and constraints.
- Manage design development and ensure proposals meet client requirements.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to improve project outcomes and competitiveness.
- Engage with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and key stakeholders.
- Oversee programme development, resource planning and construction methodologies.
- Support commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
- Ensure compliance with health \& safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Maintain pre\-construction budgets and risk registers.
- Facilitate seamless handover of awarded projects into operational delivery teams.
You'll possess strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to bring together multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience within a pre\-construction, bid management, estimating or project management role.
- Proven success delivering tender submissions and securing new business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of construction or infrastructure project lifecycles.
- Experience coordinating design, commercial and operational functions.
- Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and client\-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Good knowledge of construction health \& safety and CDM regulations.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with a recognised industry body.
- Experience working within highways, infrastructure or major projects environments.
Hours: Full Time \- 40 \- Monday to Friday
