The Child Health Psychology department at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Practitioner Psychologist to lead on the development of psychologically\-informed care within an All Wales Paediatric Persistent Pain Service. The successful candidate will, under the leadership and supervision of the lead Clinical Psychologist, provide psychological expertise and consultation to support the establishment and development of a new, evidence and value\-based model of care to meet the needs of Children and Young People with Persistent Pain, and their families, across Wales.

The successful applicant will help deliver on a phased development plan for an interdisciplinary model of care with the lead Allied Health Professional and Consultant Paediatric Pain specialist working closely with other team members and local multidisciplinary teams for each Health Board. The tertiary service will initially operate clinically across a variety of locations including community, hospital sites and virtually and will involve support of schools, teaching and training, co\-design of pathways, tools and workshops and active support of communities of practice.

The clinical model is based on a service specification from national workshops in Wales and integrated care models recommended nationally. It also aligns with the C \& V Rehabilitation Model.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Persistant Pain team. As a Band 7 Practitioner psychologist you will work closely with the 8b Practitioner Psychologist in delivering psychological care and consultation across the Paediatric Pain network.

The appointee will provide psychologically informed expertise to the multidisciplinary team developing and delivering a persistent pain service that supports children and young people from diverse backgrounds across Wales. The post holder will be supervised by the 8b Practitioner Psychologist within the team. The post will require working with local services, communities and schools across Wales and will include individual patient work, group work, consultation to others and support and where appropriate supervision of MDT colleagues.

Partnership working is essential for this role through co\-production, fostering multidisciplinary and multi\-agency relationships.

The role will involve developing psychologically informed training and education; and supporting colleagues beyond the persistent pain service in developing a common understanding of pain management and therapeutic options.

There is a significant service development aspect to this role with opportunities for research and audit with teams working alongside the clinical service.
