Practice Nurse (RGN)

We are hiring an experienced registered nurse (minimum 2 years post\-qualification experience) to join our practice in Dublin 7 for 4\.5 days per week on a long\-term basis.

Ideally, you will be an experienced Practice Nurse, or be a proactive general nurse, working in an acute hospital setting, who is looking for a change of career to a clinically varied role. We are a small, friendly team where a skilled and dynamic clinical colleague is supported and encouraged to develop in the role. Our team includes GPs, nurses and administration staff and we are an appointment\-based practice with excellent clinical support and training.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, a willingness to grow and develop their nursing skills and the ability to work within a team and on their own initiative, in a fast\-paced environment. We are centrally located in Dublin 7, close to Luas and bus routes and with onsite parking.

The Practice Nurse role includes:

• Coordinating and delivering Chronic Disease Management programmes and appointments


• Planning and delivering child and adult vaccination clinics


• Phlebotomy, injections, blood pressure monitoring, and ECGs


• Wound care, dressings, suture removal, and assisting GPs with procedures


• Cervical smear taking (training can be provided)


• Assisting with ante natal care


• Health promotion in line with HSE and best practice guidance


• Clinical administration including accurate records, claims and recalls.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be a Registered General Nurse with An Bord Altranais / NMBI


• Midwifery training an advantage (must be in addition to RGN training)


• Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in an acute hospital or primary care setting


• Excellent communication, interpersonal and telephone skills


• Proactive and adaptable with excellent organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy environment


• A collaborative team player, with the initiative to manage and progress their own responsibilities while working well with others


• Excellent spoken and written English


• Good computer skills (Socrates patient management system training will be provided).

Appropriate training can be provided; previous GP practice experience will be a definite advantage.

We offer a competitive salary and while 4\.5 days is preferred (ideally 36 hours per week), part\-time applications will be considered.
