At St Clare Hospice, we know that great patient care starts with great people.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a passion for developing others to join us as our Practice Development Nurse.

You may already be working in practice development, education or workforce development. Equally, you may be an experienced clinician who finds yourself supporting students, mentoring colleagues, leading training sessions or helping others grow in confidence and skills.

If you are considering a new direction in your nursing career and are passionate about learning, development and improving care, we would love to hear from you.

This is a newly created role and a fantastic opportunity to help shape how learning and professional development are delivered across St Clare Hospice. We recognise that the right person may not have every skill on day one, and we are committed to supporting the successful candidate to develop in the role.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the development of nurses, nursing associates, healthcare assistants and other staff groups.

  • Delivering education, training and competency assessment across clinical services.

  • Supporting induction, preceptorship and learner development.

  • Working alongside teams to improve practice and embed evidence\-based care.

  • Supporting students, apprentices and practice learning opportunities.

  • Helping to create a culture of continuous learning and development.
About you

You will be a Registered Nurse with strong clinical experience and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others learn and develop.

You might already have experience in education and practice development, or you may have gained transferable skills through mentoring, supervision, coaching, student support, quality improvement work or leadership responsibilities.

Most importantly, you will be enthusiastic about developing people, curious about how we can improve practice and committed to delivering excellent palliative and end of life care.

Why join us?

This role offers a rare opportunity to step into a specialist education and development post within a supportive hospice environment.

As a new role, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of learning and development at St Clare Hospice. We are looking for potential as much as experience and will support the successful candidate to develop the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the post.

Why St Clare Hospice?

At St Clare Hospice, we believe every adult with a life\-limiting illness deserves access to outstanding palliative care when and where they need it. You will join a supportive, forward\-thinking organisation where education, innovation and continuous improvement are valued and encouraged.

Please read the job description for further details.

In return for your commitment, we offer a competitive salary and pension options. We also provide strong development support and learning opportunities.

For an informal discussion, please contact: Sheona Evangeli, Director of Patient Care and Quality on 07534 124013 or email at sheona.evangeli@stclarehospice.org.uk
