Port Operations Technician

A leading UK port and logistics business is looking to recruit a full-time Port Operations Technician to join their Shipping & Inspection Services team based in Purfleet, Essex.

Location: Purfleet, Essex

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, working either day or night shifts as required. Regular weekend work will also be required at times, with additional payments applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Following operational procedures to ensure product quality and quantity standards are met.


• Taking oil samples from cargo vessels, storage tanks and road tankers to ensure products meet quality and safety specifications.


• Recording operational details using computer-based reporting systems.


• Communicating with internal departments, shipping agents, cargo vessels and terminal operators to ensure smooth and timely cargo operations.


• Carrying out light manual handling duties where required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Flexible and adaptable approach to operational requirements.


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.


• Self-motivated and organised.


• Reliable and punctual.


• Strong communication skills.

Salary & Benefits:

Starting salary of £28,000 rising to £30,000 following successful completion of probation, plus additional payments for weekend work.
