Podium and Specialist Landscaping Site Manager

Role Description The Podium and Specialist Landscaping Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily delivery of podium and specialist landscaping projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and environmental compliance. This on\-site role, based in the north of England (Leeds and Manchester) with the potential for travel across the UK as project requirements demand, includes coordinating site teams and subcontractors, managing schedules, supervising installation of specialist landscapes and green roof systems, and monitoring progress against project plans. The Site Manager will liaise with clients, designers, and internal stakeholders to interpret drawings and specifications, resolve site issues, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Day\-to\-day tasks involve planning materials and equipment, enforcing health and safety procedures, conducting site inspections, and maintaining accurate records and reports, as well as installation of hard and soft landscaping features. The role also requires active participation in quality assurance, troubleshooting technical challenges, and supporting continuous improvement in installation practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in both hard and soft landscaping, with experience managing complex or specialist landscape projects.


• Practical experience in both hard and soft landscaping installations.


• Knowledge of irrigation systems and water management techniques relevant to podium landscapes and green roofs.


• Proven ability to supervise site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage project timelines and resources.


• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction and landscaping environments.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.


• Previous experience in urban greening, green roofs, or commercial landscaping is highly beneficial.


• Relevant vocational qualification or certification in landscaping, horticulture, or construction management is an advantage.


• Full UK driving license and flexibility to work on various sites as project requirements demand.
