Plant Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled mechancial technician/fitter to join our dynamic team at our new workshop in heywood greater manchester.

Disab Uk is the Uk arm of Disab Sweden, we are the market leader in our field of truck mounted vacuum equipment and have exceptional standards and reputation with machinery being produced in Scandivia and Austrailia and sold all over the world.

We believe weekends should be with your friends and family so no weekend work is required and a person who works for us is a valid member of our team and not just a number

Optional overtime is available for those that wish to do it and this is paid as overtime

Starting salary is 45k with possibilities to earn OTE of 48k to 52k

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with various materials and tools. As an employee of Disab, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing faults, maintaining equipment , assembling and fabricating components, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and precision.

Duties

• Assemble and fabricate components using hand tools and power tools.


• Repair and maintain equipment at our own site as well as customers


• Have experience in basic Hydraulics, pneumatics and 12 and 24 volt electrical knowledge


• Perform MIG welding duties.


• Conduct quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure adherence to specifications.


• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols.


• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency in production.

Experience

• Proven experience in HGV, cranes, excavators or any mobile heavy plant related field is essential


• Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work on own initiative


• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.


• A willingness to learn new skills and techniques is highly valued.
