Planning and Development Team Leader
An exciting opportunity for a Planning and Development Team Leader to join our high\-performing, busy Planning and Development Team. This is an opportunity for a motivated and driven planning professional to play a key role in shaping development across North West Leicestershire, leading a team of Planning Officers. You need previous experience of working in a Planning Team, successfully supervising staff and motivating and developing team members. You also need demonstrable experience of dealing with major and contentious planning applications and a solid understanding of current planning legislation and policy. A recognised qualification in planning or equivalent to degree level is required, along with being a member of, or eligible for, membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, able to prioritise workloads effectively and confident in communicating with a wide range of people. Being resilient and capable of working under pressure to meet challenging deadlines, while also being a team player is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who relishes a challenge, has the drive and enthusiasm to make a difference, and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of the district. The district of North West Leicestershire is mainly rural in character with the southern part of the district being in the National Forest, yet it also has pressures from development in its main urban areas due to locations close to East Midlands Airport and the strategic highways network.
