Phlebotomist/HCA

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Phlebotomist / Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly primary care team. This is a patient\-facing role supporting the delivery of high\-quality care within a busy GP surgery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out venepuncture safely and effectively in accordance with best practice


• Collect, label, and handle specimens correctly for laboratory testing


• Perform routine clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, height and weight


• Assist with health checks, ECGs, and basic clinical procedures as required


• Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and confidentiality at all times


• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NHS requirements


• Adhere to infection prevention and control standards


• Maintain and clean clinical equipment and work areas

• Recognised UK phlebotomy qualification


• Proven competency in venepuncture


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Understanding of confidentiality and data protection

• Previous experience in a GP practice or NHS setting


• Experience of clinical systems (e.g. EMIS)


• Healthcare Assistant experience

• Supportive team environment
