Pharmacy Shop Sales Assistant
This is a role for an experienced shop sales person who has a developed aptitude for merchandizing. The right candidate needs to be a self starter and able to think for themselves but must also be a team player by supporting the manager’s vision for the store as well as be able to work confidently / in a collaborative manner with other staff.
Because this store is in a Pharmacy, you will be expected to be trained as a Pharmacy Assistant. You will be responsible for the operations of the shop amongst which will be:
1\- plan, control and manage stock levels
2\- source, buy, order stock from most cost effective suppliers
3\- manage stock effectively including shelf\-life management
4\- effect logical and effective merchandising dictating eye pleasing shelf arrangements/ window dressing/ customer notifications
5\- be effective at serving and engaging customers
In this role the level of autonomy means you are accountable for good performance of sales by the actions and reactions you take.
The core skills for this role include, attention to detail and what is right and wrong in the store, effective decision making with positive impact for the business, multi\-tasking and ability to recognize opportunities, a demonstrable can\-do attitude, aptitude for connecting with customers by face expressions, tone of speech and the words you choose and sales proficiency. You must be able to work with little supervision but know when to escalate and be ready to report on sales and achievement to targets.
There are some administrative duties associated with this role and a level of confidentiality to maintain and the right candidate must be comfortable with these.
Finally, the right candidate must be dynamic, have a warm personality, willing to learn, takes criticism as an opportunity to improve, have a flair for creativity, have good communication skills and be proficient with computers, especially software typical of the buying and selling and be prepared to assist customers, team members, management and do it all with integrity and a smile.
Minimum 3 years relevant direct experience requirements plus formal educational results at GCSE level or higher.
