Pharmacy Dispenser / Pharmacy Technician – 24 Hours Per Week

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Dispenser or Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a fixed\-term contract until February 2027. This role is to cover long\-term sickness absence. The contract will be reviewed at that point and may be extended on a rolling monthly basis, or made more permanent if the opportunity arises. Ideally the applicant should have a minumum NVQ level 2 In pharmacy dispensing.

Working hours:

  • Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

  • Tuesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

  • Wednesday: 9:00am – 1:00pm

  • Thursday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Total: 24 hours per week

There may also be opportunities for additional hours during the rest of the week to cover staff leave and absence. Flexibility to help cover other team members when required would be appreciated.

About the role

The role will involve supporting the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team with the safe, efficient and accurate dispensing of medicines. The successful candidate will be involved in dispensing, preparing monitored dosage systems, managing stock, dealing with queries, and supporting the day\-to\-day running of the pharmacy. Experience using TITAN PMR is highly deisrable.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Dispensing medication accurately and safely

  • Preparing medication into monitored dosage systems/blister packs

  • Working with MAR sheets and care\-related medication processes

  • Ordering, receiving and managing stock levels

  • Checking stock, identifying shortages, and removing outdated medication

  • Following pharmacy systems of work, procedures and protocols

  • Using pharmacy computer software and PMR systems

  • Answering telephone queries and referring appropriate queries to the pharmacist

  • Communicating with patients, carers, healthcare professionals and other pharmacy staff

  • Supporting the pharmacist and other team members in their roles

  • Helping to maintain accurate records, including prescriptions and dispensing records

  • Supporting the sale of medicines in line with pharmacy protocols

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised pharmacy environment

  • Following infection\-control policies and procedures

  • Working independently where required, as well as part of the wider team
Desirable but not essential:
  • Experience using the Titan PMR system

  • NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification, or equivalent
Essential requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a pharmacy

  • Experience with blister packs/monitored dosage systems

  • Familiarity with MAR sheets

  • Good communication skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable, organised and flexible approach to work
Job Types: Fixed\-term contract, Part\-time
Contract length: Until February 2027, subject to review

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with possible additional hours by agreement

Pay: £12\.71\-£15\.00 per hour
