Pharmacy Counter Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting pharmacy operations, and assisting with medication distribution. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring patients receive accurate information and prompt service in a professional environment. Prior experience in pharmacy settings is desirable, and the position offers valuable exposure to patient care and medication management.

Duties

• Greet customers courteously and assist them with their pharmacy needs at the counter


• Dispense medications accurately under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and labels are applied


• Support pharmacy technicians with medication preparation and stock management


• Provide information on over\-the\-counter products and basic health advice within scope of practice


• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient interactions in compliance with data protection regulations


• Assist in managing inventory levels, including stock replenishment and expiry date checks


• Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards


• Support patient care by answering queries related to medication usage and side effects

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar healthcare support role is preferred


• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations


• Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills


• Organised, detail\-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team


• Good understanding of health and safety regulations within a pharmacy setting
