\*\*This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in\-office collaboration at our Solihull location, specifically, working in\-office a minimum of 3 days per week.\*\*
Impact You Will Make in the Role:
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures
- Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications by
- Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new
- Support users and developers by resolving data\-related technical issues and
- Execute regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation,
- Design, install, configure and maintain database systems, including monitoring,
- Provide a seamless flow of information by keeping the database running smoothly.
- Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls,
- Support ongoing database operations to support application and customer activities
What You Will Bring:
- 5\+ years of experience in database administration or in a similar role
- Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization
- Extensive knowledge with container orchestration technologies including Docker and
- Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, Postgres and MSSQL
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues
- Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
- Strong knowledge of version control systems and hands\-on experience with Git
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an on\-call rotation
- Additional database platform experience ( DB2, Oracle, etc.. )
- Previous experience as a mentor or adviso
