Pharmacy Counter Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support pharmacists in providing excellent patient care, handing out dispensed medication, providing advice on medications and minor ailments, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. Responsibilities

• Manage medication stock levels of over the counter medications and items within the pharmacy, including ordering and inventory control


• Provide courteous and professional service to patients, answering queries where appropriate


• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information in compliance with data protection regulations maintaining confidentiality


• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards


• Support patient care activities by providing information on medication usage and storage where appropriate


• Handling weekly cash and overseeing the control of the till.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate


• Knowledge of over the counter medications.


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail


• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment


• A recognised qualification in pharmacy assistance or related field is preferred but not mandatory
