Personal carer
Overview
I am a very young 71 year\-old lady and despite my severe physical disabilities, I have a good sense of humour and I am very easy to get along with. This is an interesting and varied job helping me to get the most out of my life.
The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in caregiving.
Duties
As a Caregiver, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting me with daily living activities such as bathing and dressing.
- Administering medication as prescribed, applying prescribed creams and monitoring health conditions such as pressure areas.
- Catheter care
- Implementing care plans developed between healthcare professionals and myself, whilst maintaining respect for my own wishes.
- Assisting with mobility and transportation, including driving me to appointments or social activities, trips out to gardens or garden centres, to visit friends etc. Mobility assistance includes the use of ceiling hoists and a car hoist; training and support will be given in this area.
- Performing light housekeeping duties.
- Helping me persue my interests and pastimes which include gardening, genealogy, miniature crafts, cookery, theatre and spectator sports (TV or live).
Experience
The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in caregiving and must have a full driving license.
Up to five days a week – minimum two full days a week. The hours per day are flexible so could be a job share if days could be agreed between two people. Minimum 5 hours up to 8 hours per day. From time to time there will be a requirement to be able to work on a Saturday and/or Sunday but plenty of notice would be given plus good weekend rate of pay
Driver and reliability essential. Female applicants only please with some caring experience. Essential qualities need to include basic cooking ability, reliability, common sense and integrity.
Pay: £168\.00\-£504\.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20\.0 – 30\.0 per week
