About Emma
Emma is a bright, loving young person who brings joy and warmth to everyone around her. She has complex support needs and requires full\-time, hands\-on care in all aspects of daily life including personal care, feeding, dressing, and constant supervision to keep her safe. Emma is age 9, non\-verbal and communicates in her own wonderful ways, and we are looking for someone who will take the time to truly understand and connect with her.
What the Role Involves
- Full personal care — dressing, changing, washing and hygiene support
- Feeding and mealtime support
- Constant, attentive supervision to ensure Emma's safety at all times
- Engaging Emma in activities suited to her interests and abilities
- Communicating positively and patiently — Emma is non\-verbal and expressive in her own way
- Working closely with Emma's family and primary carer
- Previous experience supporting individuals with profound or complex learning disabilities— this is essential
- Experience with non\-verbal communication (Makaton, PECS, or reading individual cues)
- A warm, patient, and compassionate nature — this is so much more than a job
- Reliability and flexibility — Emma's family depend on you when cover is needed
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable)
- A valid PVG Scheme membership (Disclosure Scotland) — or willingness to apply prior to starting
- A full valid driving licence and access to own transport — travel to the family's location in North Lanarkshire is required
Experience supporting individuals with profound or complex learning disabilities is essential. An SVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not required — the right person and attitude will always matter most to us.

All applicants must be willing to undergo a PVG check prior to starting. This position is funded through a North Lanarkshire Council Direct Payment.
Pay: £12\.50\-£14\.00 per hour
