I am a friendly, sociable individual with a love for football (NTFC season ticket holder), theatre, cinema, crafting, dog walks, coffee outings, and spending time with friends and family. I am also a big Disney fan and an annual pass holder for Disneyland Paris.
About the Role
I am looking for a reliable and compassionate individual to join an existing team of four Personal Assistants who support me with day\-to\-day living, health needs, and accessing the community.
This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone who is confident, well\-organised, and adaptable, with a positive and proactive approach.
The position is offered on a casual basis, providing cover for annual leave and sickness as required. Flexibility and a willingness to step in at short notice would be highly valued.
I have multiple disabilities and chronic health conditions, including (but not limited to):
- Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
- Addison’s Disease
- POTS
- Hypermobile EDS
- Fibromyalgia \& Chronic Pain Syndrome
- Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
- Asthma
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care, including washing and dressing as required
- Administering medication, including via PEG\-J, and supporting pain management
- Monitoring health, recognising symptoms of Addison’s crisis or anaphylaxis, administering emergency medication, and calling for help when required
- Supporting me with meal preparation, fluids, and PEG feeding
- Assisting with basic housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, food shopping) – maintaining a sterile environment due to severe immunocompromise
- Providing reminders and prompts throughout the day (hydration, appliances, medication, etc.)
- Assisting with cooking and carrying items safely due to fainting risk
- Attending medical appointments, taking notes, and helping me retain information
- Supporting me to access hobbies and social activities, including football matches (using carer tickets), theatre, cinema, and community outings
- Walking my assistance dog with me
- Ordering, receiving, and stock\-checking medical equipment and medications
- Accompanying me to UK\-wide events and meetings when required for my job
- Casual/zero hours\- no fixed hours
- Day \& Night time shifts
- Shifts ideally 8–12 hours
- Rotas arranged in advance
- Caring, patient, calm, and reliable
- Comfortable supporting complex health needs
- Able to remain calm in medical or emergency situations
- Organised and confident with medication routines
- Respectful of boundaries and confidentiality
- Previous care experience (preferred but not essential for the right person)
- Full UK driving licence
- Aged 25\+ to drive the mobility vehicle
- Must be comfortable around dogs as I have an assistance dog
