Role Purpose

To manage the end\-to\-end weekly payroll process, ensuring employees, subcontractors, and office staff are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining payroll records, holiday administration, sickness records, and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and maintain weekly payroll using Ninox and BrightPay payroll systems.

  • Import and process employee wage data, including starters, leavers, holiday pay, sickness, unpaid leave, and approved pay adjustments.

  • Verify new starter information from recruitment and management teams before processing payments.

  • Review HR records for holidays, sickness absences, and unpaid leave, ensuring payroll calculations are accurate.

  • Calculate and administer holiday pay, average earnings payments, and statutory sick pay where applicable.

  • Process CIS payments and maintain related payroll records.

  • Generate and distribute payslips, payment statements, and payroll reports.

  • Prepare and process BACS payment files within agreed payroll deadlines.

  • Manage payroll inboxes and telephone queries, ensuring all enquiries and payroll tasks are actioned and organised.

  • Administer annual leave bookings, entitlement calculations, approvals, and holiday record maintenance.

  • Record sickness absence information and update payroll systems accordingly.

  • Produce holiday entitlement breakdowns and communicate leave balances to employees and managers.

  • Additional administrative tasks to support the finance function and to help cover holiday periods

  • Look to improve systems, processes and procedures within payroll and the wider finance function
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Payroll administration and processing.

  • Knowledge of payroll systems such as BrightPay preferable.

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of holiday pay, sickness absence, and statutory payroll requirements.

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage confidential employee information.

  • Strong communication skills when dealing with employees, managers, and payroll queries.
Summary

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, holiday and sickness administration, CIS processing, employee record maintenance, and payroll compliance, ensuring all staff and subcontractors are paid correctly and in line with company procedures

Pay: £30,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
