About the Team:

The Pay \& Benefits team sits within the Finance function and plays a key role in supporting staff and managers across SRUC. Our aim is to deliver a professional, consistent, accurate, and timely payroll service throughout the organisation, while also providing an effective and efficient pension administration service across SRUC's seven pension schemes.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Post Holder will provide support in the achievement of a professional, consistent, accurate and timely Payroll service across SRUC. The Post Holder is responsible for co\-ordinating and administering non\-salary benefits across SRUC including pensions, salary sacrifice schemes and retail discounts ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The postholder will liaise with HR, employees, and managers to ensure the accurate and timely processing and administration of SRUC's monthly payroll for approximately 1,100 employees. This includes processing payroll documentation for starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, and other payroll\-related claims.

This role would suit a highly numerate candidate with a natural flair for accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrable experience of working in a payroll or HR professional environment is essential, with a proven understanding of payroll legislation and documentation including PAYE, SSP, SMP, treatment and calculation of benefits.

An understanding of pension schemes, salary sacrifice arrangements, and other payroll\-related matters would be highly advantageous, as would experience in administering pay and grading outcomes and implementing employee benefits packages.

This is a fixed term contract for up to 24 months.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should be educated to a minimum of SQA National Higher or equivalent.

A payroll or benefits related qualification, e.g. CIPP qualified or equivalent (Chartered Institute of payroll professionals) would be desirable.
