The opportunity
The Fashion Business School at London College of Fashion, UAL, is one of the leading centres for fashion business and marketing education in the world. In strategic partnership with UAL Online, we deliver two fully online postgraduate programmes, MA Fashion Business and MA Fashion Marketing, to a global community of students across three intakes each year.
The Pathway Leader will work closely with the Course Leader to provide academic leadership and management across both programmes, supporting students and tutors as they navigate a carefully designed, fully online learning experience. The post\-holder will support and develop a growing course team (including oversight of sessional tutors as both programmes scale) and take responsibility for the academic progression and wellbeing of up to two cohorts of students in each teaching period.
Key duties include facilitating student engagement with weekly learning materials via UAL Online’s virtual learning environment (Moodle), hosting live sessions and tutorials, conducting formative and summative assessment, and contributing to curriculum refresh in partnership with UAL Online. The role also carries responsibility for quality assurance processes including assessment scheduling and external examiner relationships. This is a role of immediate strategic importance that will develop in line with the ambitions of both programmes.

Your profile
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant postgraduate degree and bring significant experience of managing teaching and assessment in a higher education context. A teaching qualification (PGCert or equivalent) and/or Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable; candidates appointed without one will be supported to work towards it following their probation period.
You will have demonstrated expertise in fashion business and/or fashion marketing, evidenced through a track record of research or professional practice that is recognised by peers. Whether your career has been rooted in academia, built at senior level in the industry, or developed across both, you will be able to bring genuine authority to the subject and the scholarship, and a
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively are essential, as is a commitment to building inclusive communities of practice and fostering collaboration across a diverse course team. You will plan and manage resources with care, and approach teaching with an inquiring, innovative and reflexive mindset. Prior experience of academic leadership or management in a higher education context is desirable.
