Duration: Initial 3\-month temporary contract (with possible extension)
Hours: 1–2 days per week (flexible)
Pay: £15 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail\-oriented Technical Procurement \& Engineering Assistant to support the procurement of equipment, components, and services for a distillery project. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to identify suitable suppliers, obtain quotations, compare technical specifications, and assist with purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities
\* Research and identify suitable equipment, machinery, spare parts, and suppliers.
\* Obtain and compare quotations from manufacturers and distributors worldwide.
\* Review technical specifications and ensure equipment meets project requirements.
\* Communicate with suppliers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and other regions.
\* Prepare procurement comparison tables and recommendation reports.
\* Maintain procurement records and supplier databases.
\* Assist with logistics, shipping, and delivery coordination where required.
\* Support general project administration and documentation.
Essential Requirements
\* Mechanical Engineering qualification, Engineering Technician qualification, or similar technical background.
\* Excellent spoken and written English.
\* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet research.
\* Ability to communicate professionally with international suppliers and manufacturers.
\* Good organizational and administrative skills.
\* Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
Desirable
\* Experience in procurement, purchasing, engineering projects, manufacturing, food processing, brewing, distilling, or chemical industries.
\* Experience sourcing equipment internationally.
\* Knowledge of pumps, tanks, boilers, piping systems, process equipment, or industrial machinery.
