About the role
As our in\-house paraplanner, you will provide technical and administrative support to our Chartered financial advisers, helping to deliver high\-quality financial planning services to clients both in Thornbury and around the UK.
You will play a vital role in creating bespoke financial plans for our clients, enabling advisers to focus on developing client relationships while ensuring advice is accurate, compliant, and tailored to individual client needs.
The role is advertised as full\-time, but part\-time hours could be considered.
Responsibilities
- Analysing client financial information, objectives, and circumstances.
- Researching financial planning solutions, including pensions, investments, protection products, and retirement strategies.
- Preparing detailed suitability reports and recommendation documents.
- Reviewing existing financial arrangements and evaluating their effectiveness against client objectives.
- Producing cashflow modelling and financial forecasting where required.
- Ensuring all recommendations meet regulatory requirements and company compliance standards.
- Liaise with clients, providers, and third parties where necessary.
- Respond to technical client queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of client review meetings.
- Contribute to improving internal processes and procedures.
- Support wider business initiatives and projects as required.
*Essential qualifications*
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or working towards completion).
- Chartered Financial Planner status or progression towards Chartered status.
- Additional specialist qualifications in pensions, investments, or taxation.
- Previous experience in a paraplanning or financial services role.
- Sound knowledge of financial planning, pensions, investments, and protection products.
- Strong report\-writing and analytical skills.
- Understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience using financial planning and research software.
- Knowledge of tools such as CashCalc, Oxford Risk, Enable, and Defaqto.
- Understanding of tax and estate planning strategies.
- Experience supporting Chartered or Certified Financial Planners.
*Salary range*
- £40,000 – £55,000 FTE (depending on experience, qualifications, and location).
