Job Summary

MH Solicitors LLP is seeking a dedicated and motivated Family Law Paralegal to join our busy and growing Family Department at our Harrow branch. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in family law, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high\-quality client care.

Our Family Department handles a wide range of matters including divorce, financial remedy, domestic abuse, private children law, public law matters, and general family\-related applications. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and ready to contribute positively to a supportive legal team.

Duties

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and reviewing legal documents related to family law cases, including petitions, affidavits, and settlement agreements

  • Organize and maintain case files with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up\-to\-date

  • Conduct legal research using IT tools and online resources to support case strategies

  • Manage correspondence with clients, courts, and other stakeholders via email and phone calls, ensuring clear and professional communication

  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings using Microsoft Outlook, while maintaining an efficient calendar system

  • Draft reports, summaries, and other documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel for case analysis and tracking progress

  • Support the team during court proceedings by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating logistics
Skills
  • Assisting solicitors with day\-to\-day case management across all areas of family law.

  • Drafting legal documents, statements, court forms, correspondence, and bundles.

  • Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries.

  • Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner.

  • Managing and maintaining accurate file records in line with SRA compliance standards.

  • Supporting fee\-earners with administrative tasks, scheduling, and case progression.

  • Attending client meetings and court hearings where required.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in family law (minimum 6–12 months preferred, but strong candidates with demonstrable interest will be considered).

  • Genuine enthusiasm for pursuing a career within the family law sector.

  • Empathy and emotional intelligence, with the ability to support clients during sensitive and challenging situations.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to draft clearly and speak confidently.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
